Traditional Chinese Medicine Newcastle
A whole-person approach to your health
Traditional Chinese Medicine in Newcastle with AHPRA-registered practitioner Adrian Taricani (CMR0001767285) — combining acupuncture — combining acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine and refined pulse diagnosis at our Georgetown clinic.
An Integrated System
More than acupuncture — a complete medical tradition
Our Traditional Chinese Medicine Newcastle clinic offers a complete system of medicine refined over thousands of years.
It encompasses acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, dietary therapy, soft-tissue therapy and lifestyle guidance — all guided by classical diagnostic methods. While TCM has a long history of traditional use, clinical research for some conditions is still evolving. At our Newcastle clinic, Adrian draws these threads together into one coordinated treatment plan
At our Newcastle clinic, Adrian draws these threads together into one coordinated treatment plan, designed around your individual presentation rather than a single symptom.
TCM is intended as a complementary therapy. We work alongside your GP, specialists and allied health team — not in place of them — and individual responses to treatment vary.

FAQs
Common questions about TCM in Newcastle
What is Traditional Chinese Medicine?
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a complete system of medicine developed over thousands of years. It includes acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, dietary therapy and bodywork, and is used in Australia as a complementary therapy alongside conventional medical care.
Is TCM safe? Is it regulated in Australia?
In Australia, Chinese medicine practitioners are regulated by the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia under AHPRA. Adrian is a registered practitioner and follows the Board’s Code of Conduct, including the use of sterile single-use needles and quality-assured herbal suppliers.
Will TCM replace my GP or specialist care?
No. TCM is intended to complement — not replace — care from your GP, specialist or allied health team. We encourage you to keep your regular medical providers informed about your treatment with us.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies considerably depending on your concern, how long it has been present and your individual response. After your initial consultation Adrian will discuss a suggested plan with you, and we’ll review progress together along the way.
Do you see patients from outside Newcastle?
Yes. Our Georgetown clinic is easily accessed from Newcastle, Mayfield, Waratah, Hamilton, Lambton, Jesmond, New Lambton, Maitland and the wider Hunter Valley region.
