Gentle, hands-on soft tissue therapy in Newcastle — a remedial approach to muscle tension, fascia restriction and limited mobility. Offered alongside acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine by an AHPRA-registered practitioner at our Georgetown clinic

Hands-On Support

What Is Soft Tissue Therapy?

Soft tissue therapy is a hands-on treatment that works with the muscles, tendons, fascia and other connective tissues that support your posture and movement. Through graded pressure, sustained holds, stretching and guided movement, it aims to ease tension and support comfortable range of motion.

While similar in some ways to remedial massage, soft tissue therapy at On Point Natural Medicine is informed by Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis — including pulse and tongue assessment — allowing treatment to be coordinated with acupuncture and broader TCM principles in a single appointment.

At On Point Natural Medicine in Georgetown, soft tissue therapy is offered as part of a consideredTraditional Chinese Medicinetreatment plan, most often combined withacupuncturein the same appointment.

Part of Integrated TCM Care

Combined with Acupuncture & Pulse Diagnosis

Soft tissue therapy is most often delivered as part of the same appointment as acupuncture, informed by advanced pulse diagnosis and a thorough consultation. This integrated approach lets Adrian address both the local area of tension and the broader picture revealed during assessment.

Where appropriate, an individualised Chinese herbal medicine formula may also be discussed as part of your ongoing care.

A Considered, Whole-Person Approach

Treatment is delivered with clear consent and your comfort in mind, and adjusted to your response over time.

Have Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Helpful answers about soft tissue therapy at On Point Natural Medicine.

What is soft tissue therapy?

Soft tissue therapy is a hands-on treatment that uses techniques such as sustained pressure, stretching and guided movement applied to muscles, tendons, fascia and other soft tissues. At On Point Natural Medicine it is offered as part of a Traditional Chinese Medicine treatment plan.

How is it different from a regular remedial massage?

Soft tissue therapy here is delivered by an AHPRA-registered Chinese Medicine practitioner and is integrated with TCM assessment and, where appropriate, acupuncture. It is focused on supporting your individual treatment goals rather than offered as a stand-alone relaxation massage.

What can soft tissue therapy help with?

It may be used to support people experiencing muscle tightness, postural strain, reduced range of motion, or tension related to stress and daily activity. Adrian will discuss whether it is appropriate for your presentation during your consultation.

Is the treatment painful?

Soft tissue therapy at On Point is intentionally gentle and graded to your comfort. You should feel the work but it should not be sharply painful. Communication during treatment is encouraged so pressure can be adjusted.

Can it be combined with acupuncture in the same session?

Yes. Soft tissue therapy is most often used alongside acupuncture in the same appointment, either before, during or after the needling component, as part of one integrated treatment.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is required. You can book directly. If you are receiving care from a GP, physiotherapist or other practitioner, Adrian is happy to work alongside your broader healthcare team.

Can I claim on private health insurance?

Consultations with an AHPRA-registered Chinese Medicine practitioner are recognised by most Australian private health funds with appropriate extras cover for acupuncture. Adrian will provide receipts with all required details.
